Arabic Voyage

The eyes of the eagle are overflowing with pride
As he spreads his wings as he shadows the sky
From Maghreb to Sham across the Arab tide
Riding the sunbeam on a desert sigh

The bakhour¬ smoke uncovers a long lost story
While it swirls the shapes of a sword dancer
Whirling at the rhythm of a dirbaki+
And falling in quicksand as a sandrose flower

And when night falls comes the twilight of June
Behind a cold yet warm mist of cloudy steam
A sage with its Oud* is sitting atop of a dune
Singing to the moon a thousand and one dream

It is carved for generations within their eyes
Incomparable bravery that estranges outsiders
But a warm gentle hand of generosity stays wise
A plate of dates kept for goodwill hearted breeders

It is marked for centuries in Arab blood
Sprighteful and fearless warriors are fond
Of their endless loyalty to the word of God
Dearest symbol of their brotherhood bond

Oh arabia, so much beauty so much might,
Though today corrupted in ruthless clashes
One day will Arabia come to reunite
Like a blazing phoenix rising back from its ashes

P.S: ¬The incense of Arabia
+Dirbaki is a musical percussion instrument
*Oud is the equivalent of Lute
